If you don’t have previous optical experience, not to worry, M&S Opticians can provide you with all the training and support that you need to be very successful. However, experience in a customer-facing environment with a passion for creating a unique customer experience is essential. Optical Assistant Position The beauty of an Optical Assistant role is that no two days are ever the same. As an Optical Assistant, you’ll need the ability to enthuse every customer and converse confidently on anything from a new pair of glasses to our specialist hearing service They are looking for someone keen to help, grow, and develop a new practice and be prepared to go above and beyond for patients and colleagues. You must have a real passion for optics with a bubbly and exciting personality. Responsibilities of the Optical Assistant The role will entail dispensing spectacles to all levels, conducting pre-screen tests and contact lens teaches. You will also be required to carry out frame styling and give patients advice on their options. Reception duties and general admin will also be a part of the role and help with the smooth running of the practice. It’s essential you have a customer-focused approach to your work and the ability to build a strong rapport with customers and colleagues alike. Compensation for the Optical Assistant For your efforts, a competitive salary is on offer plus a team bonus. You will need to be flexible to work weekends. Shifts tend to vary with early shifts from 9 am and lates until 7pm (this will depend on the business needs). Full-time is 37.5 hours per week. 28 days Holiday
